Q: I am working with viscous, thick liquids, but need to dispense them out of containers.
What is the maximum viscosity Burkle liquid pumps can take?
A: The maximum viscosity which all Burkle liquid pumps can work with is 450 cp
As a point of reference, the approximate viscosity of some common liquids are;
- Fruit juice – 50 cp
- Olive Oil – 85 cp
- Cream (50% fat) – 115 cp
- Yoghurt – 150 cp
- Chocolate sauce – 280 cp
- Vegetable soup – 430 cp
- Tomato ketchup – 1000 cp
- Mayonnaise – 2000 cp
If you are unsure of the viscosity, or think that your liquid may be on the borderline for Burkle pumps, you can find the viscosity by checking the MSDS or asking the manufacturer.
