Why does my Bottle of pH Buffer State a Temperature on the Label?

Changes in temperature affect a pH reading. This is why you will usually see the temperature printed on the side of the bottle of pH buffer solutions. The buffer will be closest to its stated pH at that temperature (usually 20oC or 25oC) When calibrating a pH meter with automatic buffer recognition, it is recommended to use the correct buffer. So please check the manufacture's instructions ...

What is a pH calibration?

One of the golden rules to pH measurement is to routinely calibrate your pH meter before measuring any samples. pH buffers have a known pH value, most commonly 4, 7 and 10. Calibration with these buffers gives the meter reference points to use whilst measuring the pH of other samples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t240gykR_I The TRUEscience SMART cap system uses a bluetooth signal t...
