What is FFP and the different levels?
Filtering face piece (FFP) is a filter placed in masks to reduce inhalation exposure to particular contaminants. These come with different levels of protection: 1, 2 and 3, with 3 being the highest level of protection with the minimum filtration protection of 99% vs 94% for level 2.
Why transparent masks?
Transparent masks support communication between those who have hearing difficulties or are deaf, patients/service users with cognitive problems such as dementia, and those with learning difficulties. These masks can also aid productivity, encourage innovation and increase team work as the wearers are able to see and understand more of the expressions people use to communicate.
