How do I safely dispense flammable liquids from large barrels?
A common question is how can you safely dispense flammable liquids from a large industrial barrel. Buerkle GmbH have the answer. The Stainless steel barrel pump is ideal to pump flammable liquids provided you ensure a few safety criteria are met. Static electricity is what causes the sparks when you comb your hair or touch a metal object, like a doorknob, after walking across a carpet. It can also be generated by repeated contact and separation between unlike materials, like a flat belt on a rotating pulley. If static electricity discharges it can cause a spark, so Buerkle have provided an anti static set to avoid this happening with their stainless steel barrel pumps.
