The stainless steel pump is required because it is the most resistant to flammables and solvents and conducts electricity.

Static electricity is the electric charge generated when there is friction between two things made of different materials or substances. Static electricity is what causes the sparks when you comb your hair or touch a metal object, like a doorknob, after walking across a carpet. It can also be generated by repeated contact and separation between unlike materials, like a flat belt on a rotating pulley.
If static electricity discharges it can cause a spark, so Buerkle have provided an anti static set to avoid this happening with their stainless steel barrel pumps.

The barrel pump is available with a discharge tube which has an on/off stopcock or a discharge tube. The pump capacity is 9-22 litres/min depending on the length of the pump. Available in 360, 570 and 910 mm to fit most common barrel types.
Please note that this pump is not recommended for acetone.
