Camlab’s new website offers unprecedented access to information and shipping charge reductions
One of the UK’s leading scientific suppliers, Camlab Ltd is launching a new website for 2011 that is fully integrated with the company’s SAP-based business intelligence enterprise software which enables the company’s customers to have unprecedented access to detailed product information and technical information.
The website’s new functionality also allows Camlab to provide its customers with a number of benefits which include being able to reduce shipping charges while offering international rates for the first time. The new website features an online ordering capability that allows customers to check quotes, view previous purchase histories, stock, orders due in and lead-times.
“It is important to Camlab that customers can trust the information we display which is why we show live stock levels and the lead-times that our suppliers are actually achieving,” said Neil Stickland, Camlab’s Webmaster. “We have also incorporated control capabilities for better spend and/or purchase requisition management with the addition of our Purchase Control Technology (PCT) solution.”
To offer customers a faster and more robust website solution Camlab invested in a complete rebuild based on the Microsoft DOTnet platform with the result that the new website now offers improved transparency and allows Camlab’s service contract support customers to manage their items more efficiently. Customers are now able to view full copies of service reports and online calibration certificates. Service engineer visits can also be monitored via the website.
Camlab’s website went live in 2006 and since that time the company has continuously improved the website with a number of innovative features that has seen web traffic grow exponentially to more than 95,000 hits a month.
